Mr. L (Bill Lombard) is passionate about mathematics and teaching mathematics. When you enter his classroom, there is no doubt in your mind what is going on there. He creates a positive atmosphere for success for all students and runs a tight ship.
Some of the things Mr. L does in his classroom:
- Has project work to cement understanding
- Has the room be colorful
- Puts posters and student work on the walls and papers that have things to do with what we do in class
- Is someone who plays math games
- Gives help when asked
- Makes sure you’re organized
- Really loves teaching math so it’s not boring
- Has a smile and a sense of humor
- Gives motivational rewards
- Goes over material multiple times
- Gives one-on-one help
- Always has a review before a test
- Does examples on the board and leaves them up there for reference
- Has patience – takes time to make sure each student understands the material
- Makes math fun
- Is as clear as possible
