Projects in the math class are a great way to accomplish many goals:
- Give a visual representation of math
Allow students to express creativity
Unify math and art/drawing
Bring a topic alive
Give a record of important concepts
The Infinite Fractal Triangle does all this and more, including ratio and proportion, similarity and self-similarity, area and perimeter concepts, the geometric mean. As you view this PowerPoint AudioCast by Mr. L, a.k.a. Bill Lombard, you will most likely find even more topics than these.
Try this out with your students and let me know how it goes; once you give projects a try, you’ll be wanting to do more!
