Quizzes and Tests make up the majority of the semester grade. Quizzes may be frequent and normally cover material covered in the last few days of class. Students are usually not expected to be quizzed on material until it has been covered for at least two days.
Missed quizzes and tests: Students absent the day of a quiz or test are expected to take the missed test the day they return. This test may be different than the original test. Students absent multiple days or having special circumstances will be given individual consideration. There are no “Makeup Tests” – students are expected to be well-prepared for assessment. If a student performs below expectations, the student needs to see Mr. L for help and advice. “Study Buddies” are strongly encouraged.
Mr. L takes care in preparing his students for exams. Normally there is a practice test the day or two before an exam. It is the responsibility of the students to be able to solve these practice questions and seek help at that time – there should be no surprises the day of the exam.
